W3 Awards honor outstanding websites, web marketing, web mobile sites/apps & social content created by agencies, designers and creators worldwide. We were pleased to find out that our team and clients had been awarded three of these awards for our hard work in content creation.
W3 Award: Society of Women Engineers
Our client the Society of Women Engineers won a silver award in the “Online Video-Non-Profit for Video” category for their My Journey. My Community. My SWE videos. These videos are a cornerstone of an integrated membership marketing campaign designed to inspire current SWE members to renew their membership or prospective members to join the Society. Each video in this nine-video series features a professional or collegiate member explaining how being a member of SWE has helped them in their engineering career journey and how they have found a profoundly supportive community for women in engineering. The DJG team conceptualized the approach, filmed the interviews, developed the motion graphics (based on the branded campaign) and edited the videos into brief compelling stories. The series is at the heart of a comprehensive social media campaign and is featured prominently on the Society’s blog “All Together.”
W3 Award: Society of Surgical Oncology
Our client the Society of Surgical Oncology (SSO) received a “General Website Categories-Public Relations for Websites” silver award. SSO recently rebranded the organization so an update to their website was necessary. The goal of the new website was to present the Society as a contemporary and inclusive society that provides thought leadership within the field of surgical cancer care. Also, an enhanced user experience and improved functionality were key drivers in the design. We started with user-centric navigation and a clean, simple, yet sophisticated look that strikingly expanded their new brand into the digital space. From a functional standpoint, the new site features events more prominently promote ExpertED surgical oncology education offerings and incorporates more graphics and videos to improve user engagement.
W3 Award: Blue Water Communications
The Blue Water Communications (BWC) division of the David James Company won a W3 award in silver in the “General Website Categories-Public Relations for Websites” category. BWC wanted to reimagine its site and make it more attractive to its audience, which consists of museums, architectural firms, performing arts organizations and destinations. BWC’s team felt that their old site was cluttered and confusing with a mix of press releases and news blurbs that needed to be cleaned up and featured in a more organized, consistent interface. The impactful design was inspired by the world of fine arts that BWC serves. We also implemented relevant keywords to improve search engine optimization and drive traffic. The site is built in the WordPress content management system to allow BWC staff to make edits and updates as needed. Since the launch of the new website traffic is up 24% month over month.
