We’re thrilled to share that the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) has earned four 2025 APEX Awards for Publication Excellence, including one Grand Award, the highest honor in the competition, and three Awards of Excellence.

The APEX Awards recognize exceptional communications and publishing work across corporate, nonprofit, and agency sectors. With over 1,000 entries submitted this year, it’s an exciting achievement for the SWE team.

At DJG, we’re proud to have partnered with SWE on two of the award-winning projects: the migration of SWE Magazine to WordPress and the production of Diverse: a SWE podcast, both of which earned APEX Awards of Excellence.

Diverse: a SWE podcast

Diverse is no stranger to awards: over the years, SWE’s podcast has earned accolades from both FOLIO and APEX for its storytelling and conversations with STEM leaders.

This year, Diverse received an APEX Award of Excellence for this episode featuring Dr. Laurie Locascio, former U.S. Under Secretary of Commerce for Standards and Technology, who discussed the implementation of the bipartisan CHIPS and Science Act.

DJG launched Diverse with SWE in 2015 to spotlight the voices of women in engineering and technology — while helping SWE strengthen member engagement and amplify its thought leadership across the field.

As SWE’s marketing partner, our DJG team manages all aspects of the podcast, including speaker management, scripting, recording, post-production, and promotion.

We work closely with SWE to ensure the content aligns with their strategic goals and builds non-dues revenue, including a sponsored on-site podcast booth at SWE’s annual conference.

SWE Magazine WordPress Migration

SWE Magazine has long been a trusted source for thought leadership, career insights, and stories for and about women in engineering.

To help the magazine reach even more readers and ensure a seamless experience across all of SWE’s platforms, DJG partnered with SWE to migrate the magazine onto the main SWE.org WordPress website.

By integrating SWE Magazine with SWE.org, the publication now benefits from SWE’s broad digital reach, SEO strength, and brand visibility. Readers enjoy a more connected content experience, whether they’re browsing a magazine article, exploring SWE’s programs and events, or engaging with SWE’s extensive online learning content.

With a refreshed look, intuitive publishing tools, and custom article templates, SWE’s editorial team can now publish content more efficiently behind the scenes and engage readers in new ways.

DJG manually transferred 466 articles and enhanced each one to improve readability, design, and mobile access. We also added features like multi-author attribution and custom content boxes to support the magazine’s award-winning storytelling.

The result is a smoother, more enjoyable experience for readers and a powerful platform for SWE’s editorial voice.
